Up and Running
Aug. 5th, 2010 02:13 pmI spent some time at the school this morning--not as much as I should have, since I was awakened at 3 a.m. by rumbling bass from a neighbor's garage and I had trouble getting back to sleep and then overslept. Bah. For a natural human process, one's sleep is certainly dependent on a number of variables, only some of them controllable by oneself. Frustrating to have something that has to happen but that one's mind or body or neighbors can interrupt at will and at your detriment.
Anyway, the library decorations are coming along. I'm not totally thrilled with my bulletin boards yet, and only some of the organizational stuff is done, but it's coming along. I'm hoping that Monday will be a good day to get things done, once our staff meeting is over.
I'm excited about this year because I'm excited to see whole groups of children having progressed, jumping one hurdle after another. What a special position I have, to get to know all these little ones! It's different from watching one's own children grow; there is more ability to simply look for progress, instead of feeling responsible for progress made.
