Sorry for the photo glut today, guys. This is the last batch of photos of the day:

January 27, 2010

My friend across the hall from the library is the ENL teacher, and she and I make each other laugh. She has been testing students all week, and has had a closed door and a sign that says "Testing: Do Not Disturb." I told her that I had been going to run over and ask her something at lunchtime, but that her "Testing" sign had been up, though the door had been open. Later in the day, I looked up and saw this sign instead.

The husband presented me with this sparkle-some ring this week. I love the sparkle and the setting, as well as the three (fake!) stones...they symbolize my having loved him, my loving him, and that I always will love him.

January 29, 2010

I work alone half the week, which means that little back-office work gets done. When my librarian is there, I can get to the backlog of injured books and other collection maintenance. Today, the Book Doctor was In.

I don't even know how he can walk or sit down with his pants pockets full of so much stuff.

First-graders know how to make your heart melt. Probably just as well.

She totally tried to pretend that she was laughing with me, not at me. Ha!
krikketgirl: (Default) that I take them and then don't have time to post them. Here are a few, and I'll try to post more later on!

Father and son. Goofballs!

Helping with the laundry. I tell him that knowing how to do laundry makes him more manly. Don't disillusion him.

January 19, 2010

I love the Hardy Boys. I tried to instill a love of Hardy Boys in my sons. But it wasn't until they saw a character on Corner Gas reading one that the Youngest Boy decided to read it for himself!

My librarian surprised me with a "Happy New Year" gift of a box of chocolates from her daughter's store. I'm limiting myself to one a day, and this was my first one. Mmmmm.

This is one of the bulletins I'm putting together for the library at school, and my picture of the day.

Cozy Bulletin Board

This is the other bulletin board, designed to complement the display of our paper "quilts" that the children created during December.

Flip Flop

And this just seemed so sad, like this flip flop had drug itself as far out of the snow as it could get and then beached itself.

This is one of my favorite pre-1950 cookbooks, full of good "building block" recipes that one can add on to. I used it to make dumplings for our chicken stew on this bitterly cold day.

When he was born, he was 10 pounds, 1 oz, and he was 21.5 inches long. Now, he's a little taller than his grandma, and his hands have now surpassed hers in size.
