I have oodles of things to catch up on, two memes to work on, et cetera. Instead, I'm sitting here thinking that I have so much to be thankful for at this moment. Let me share:
God, from whom all blessings flow. I am so thankful that He takes time to care for me.
My husband--he makes every day an adventure. I love his sweetness, his goodness, and his sense of humor.
My kids--who make me laugh so much! They challenge me, but then at unexpected moments I can see into sweet and tender hearts. Let me tell you, I thought baby hugs were fantastic, but nothing compares to the sweetness of an honest hug from a teenager.
Our home--which, while nothing fancy, is enough.
My work--not just that I have work to do, or that I have a job in this climate (both of which are incredible), but that I get to work with people who make going into work a joy. And I am around kids all day long, which I had no idea I would enjoy. They delight me!
My friends--who are often getting somewhat short shrift these days, as I balance work and home and school and a deep need for caffeine. I don't deserve the people who are in my life. They are amazing and kind and funny and smart.
And there are all kinds of other things: red and orange leaves. A good, warm sweater. A car that runs. Books to read. Eyesight. Earrings. Sliced bread. Ripe pears. Sturdy dishes. Comfortable pillows. A sofa that doesn't show its age.
Audience Participation: What are you feeling thankful for? What are some small thanksgivings you have?
