Blah

Yesterday morning, I finally decided that I had reached my limit on coughing and feeling gross. Three weeks is a long time to be sick, even if it's low-grade and not cramping my style too much. The first discovery I made was that my doctor is only open until 2:30 every day. Except Wednesday, when the office is open until 11:30. Now, this presents problems because, if my media specialist isn't in the building, they have to get a substitute for me. If she's there, I can leave without getting a substitute, but she has to do everything herself, and it's a pain in the neck. And yesterday, the husband of awesome (Chris, for those keeping score at home) had driven me to work because the roads were so bad.

Yesterday was the last day until next Wednesday that the media specialist would be at my school, and when I showed up at work coughing, she kept suggesting that I see whether I could get an appointment anyway. "Go any time you can get an appointment," she said. "I'll be fine." I kinda wanted to tough it out, but I ended up getting an appointment at 10:30. After getting clearance from the principal and the media specialist, and then getting Chris to pick me up and drive me around, I found myself hoping something was wrong just so I wouldn't be putting everyone out.

Diagnosis: bronchitis and a sinus infection. So yay, something was actually wrong! I wasn't just unconsciously malingering. But boo, because now I'm on antibiotics for 10 days. Oh, and cough medicine. And Aleve. But yay, because hopefully I'll be getting better!
