Yesterday's lesson plan called for me to read P.D. Eastman's Are You My Mother? to the kindergarteners. Which you'd think would be pretty low-key, right? It went almost without comment on Wednesday. Thus I was unprepared for an entire class to now think it's a hoot to come up to me and say, "Mrs. Rowland? Are you my mother?"

Is that my cow?
It says "Baa".
That is a sheep.
That is not my cow.
The full version is considerably more amusing and more of a self-parody than the actual children's book depicted, and worth checking out, although not necessarily worth what they charged for it. I still have fun quoting it out of context sometimes.
Where's my librarian?
Is that my librarian?
It says "*snort*".
Yes, that is my librarian!
My librarian snorted too hard and milk came out her nose.
I need a new librarian.
