Speaking in Code?

I know I embrace foreign languages, but sometimes in mid-lesson I wonder whether I've unwittingly lapsed into one, as blank stares and uncomprehending expressions would seem to attest. Or maybe it's just Monday morning and everyone is still asleep!

I totally had this happen last week. I was talking about how rainbows exist, and asked, "have you all seen a rainbow?" and got zero responses.
